I am an Associate Professor of Economics at Johannes Kepler University Linz, a Research Fellow at CESifo, and a Research Affiliate at IZA Institute of Labor Economics.
My research lies at the intersection of health and labor economics. I am interested in how work affects health and how health, in turn, shapes employment, earnings, and economic opportunity. I also study how labor market institutions, public policies, and economic shocks influence workers' health and careers, sometimes with consequences that extend well beyond those directly affected. To answer these questions, I use large administrative datasets and quasi-experimental research designs.
